Flight and technical logbooks

Logbooks in the sidebar opens /flight-logbook, and the same entry stays highlighted on /technical-logbook. Two tabs — Flight logbook and Technical logbook — sit under one heading, because they are two views of the same flights: one organised by who flew, one by what flew.

Flight logbook

Flight history, CAA records and rolling pilot currency.

The FLIGHT RECORDS panel lists every flight, newest first.

Column	What it shows
Flight	When the flight started.
Aircraft	The airframe, its currency group, and a fleet link. An unlinked flight reads Unclassified aircraft.
Source	Uploaded log, Manual or CSV import.
Duration	How long the flight lasted, with a running total beneath.
Counting	Whether this flight counts toward currency, and if not, why.

The Counting column is the one to read. It reports Voided for a discounted flight, No aircraft linked, Needs group or Drone not grouped when the aircraft chain is incomplete, and 3 fields missing or Incomplete when the CAA record itself is short. Each of those means the flight is not contributing to flight currency.

A stat band above the table summarises Qualifying time, Currency monitoring, Currency groups and Needs attention. Currency monitoring reads Off when your organisation has not enabled currency assessment.

Filter with the search box — Job or location… — and the Filters popover, which offers Airframe type, Source and Flown between, plus Needs attention and Currency group chips.

Viewing another pilot’s logbook needs the Manage flight logs permission. Without it you see your own.

Technical logbook

Aircraft technical records and equipment usage across the fleet.

Pick an item from the FLEET rail on the left, then read its history.

Column	What it shows
Date	The flight start, or the maintenance completion or scheduled date.
Type	Maintenance and its category, or Flight, or Usage.
Detail	The maintenance title, or the pilot who flew it. Returned to service is flagged here.
Figure	Task progress as 4/7 for maintenance, otherwise the flight duration.
Status	The maintenance status, cycles observed, or fields missing.

Readouts across the top give Total hours or Hours used, Flights, Open maintenance, Charge cycles and Last used. Batteries get charge cycles; airframes get hours.

Narrow it with the All / Flights / Maint control and the Dates popover. The bar tells you 12 of 340 entries shown and offers Clear.

What is not here

Neither logbook has an export button. Flight history comes in through Import flight history (CSV), but structured output for an auditor is produced by the reports and the CAA audit pack instead — that is where the formatting, evidence checks and manifests live.

When a logbook is empty

The flight logbook reads No flights yet. Manual entries, CSV imports and uploaded flight logs all appear here. with a Log your first flight button. With filters applied it reads No loaded record matches these filters. Load more, or clear them.

The technical logbook asks you to Select an equipment item first. Once selected, an item with no history reads Usage appears here when this item is linked to a flight, and whenever maintenance is recorded against it.
