Job weather and airspace data

Open a job and select Weather for the forecast at the project’s coordinates. Airspace and NOTAM data is not here — it lives on the Pre-Flight Survey, and this page explains why and where.

The flight conditions band

Six readouts sit across the top of the tab.

Readout	Shows
Verdict · Today	Go, Marginal, No-go or No data for the day. On a job with a date, the label names that day instead.
Gust · limit 24	Forecast gust against the wind limit being applied.
Mean wind	Mean wind speed, with the direction appended once one is known.
Rain	Chance of precipitation, as a percentage.
Daylight	Sunrise and sunset, as a range.
Kp Index · latest	The most recent geomagnetic Kp reading.

The gust limit is not a fixed number. echoMike takes the lowest recorded wind limit across the drones assigned to the job, and the tooltip names which aircraft that was. If no assigned drone has a recorded wind limit, the readout reads Gust · assumed and uses the catalogue default — assign equipment for a real figure.

The seven-day outlook and hourly chart

7-Day Outlook shows a cell per day with Wind, Rain and Light, and marks the job’s own date with a Job day badge. Its heading counts how many days are flyable, and a pill reports how many are no-go — days that exceed the wind limit or are rained off. A Limit pill names the aircraft the limit came from, and a Met Office link opens the source forecast.

Flight Window is the hourly chart. It plots Wind, Gust, Rain and Temp, with mph on the axis, a labelled limit line at the applied wind limit, and shaded Night bands. A segmented control switches the secondary reading between Rain and Temp. The legend also carries Over limit.

Radar & Satellite embeds a live UK-regional radar and satellite view.

Kp index and GNSS accuracy

Kp is measured, not forecast, so a reading only appears after the date has passed. The gauge bands it as Quiet, Unsettled, Storm or Severe storm, and warns Expect degraded GNSS/RTK above 5. That matters for survey accuracy rather than for flight safety — see Import survey data and export the Ops Pack.

Where airspace and NOTAM data lives

The Weather tab carries no airspace or NOTAM display. That data is captured on the Pre-Flight Survey, in the section Airspace, aerodromes & NOTAM with its Airspace / FRZ and Nearest aerodrome fields and a NOTAMs list beneath.

It is kept there deliberately: airspace, NOTAMs and weather are all written by one Refresh data capture on that survey, and they expire together under a single readiness check, PDRA01_SITE_CONDITIONS_CURRENT.

That capture queries the geospatial service for the job’s flight areas and returns:

Restrictions	NOTAM and airspace hits within a buffer, each with severity, distance and bearing, plus a blocked flag
Nearby features	Proximity hits grouped as Schools, Built-up, Hospitals / GPs, Care homes, Venues, Roads, Railway, Power, Water, Obstacles and Footpaths
Nearest services	The nearest hospital, police station and fire station
Aerodromes	Active aerodromes within range, nearest first, with distance and true bearing
Terrain	Elevation, slope and aspect at the site, and an elevation profile along a line
Site context	Rural–urban classification and population figures
Land cover	Ground-cover composition of the area, by percentage

NOTAMs returned by that query are listed for you to mark Accepted or Ignored; one you have not judged yet reads Not yet, and anything you add by hand is tagged Manual.

When there is no forecast

No project data available with The forecast is fetched for the project’s coordinates. means the project has no location set. Forecast unavailable means the request failed and shows the error. No upcoming forecast data with The Met Office returned no days from today onward. means the provider had nothing for that site.
