The audit log

/audits records the decisions that matter after the fact: who cleared a flight, who made a document revision effective, who acknowledged a safety notice, who changed the release gate. Review safety, compliance, billing and access decisions.

Getting in

The audit log has two independent gates and you need both.

• The audit log plan feature. Without it you see Audit logs are not included in your current plan.
• The View audit logs permission. Without it you see You need the View audit logs permission to view audits.

The sidebar entry only appears when both are satisfied, so if Audits is missing entirely, start by working out which of the two you are short of. The same feature check runs on the server, so the data is protected whatever the browser shows.

What the Activity table shows

Column	What it shows
When	How long ago the event was recorded.
Activity	A written summary of what happened, with the resource type and id beneath it.
Type	Which area of the system it came from.
Actor	The person who did it. An automated action reads System.
Severity	Info, Warning, Error or Critical.

Type groups entries into Flight release, Controlled document, Safety notice, CAA SkyWise, Safety controls and Billing and access. Anything outside those reads Organization activity.

What gets recorded

Safety and compliance decisions are recorded in full:

Area	Recorded events
Flight clearance	A flight release decision being recorded
Safety settings	Changes to the release gate, currency windows and other safety controls
Controlled documents	Document created, its controls updated, document archived
Document revisions	Revision created, submitted, file attached, approved, changes requested, review reassigned, review cancelled, revision made effective
Safety notices	A pilot acknowledging a notice
CAA SkyWise	A SkyWise alert being promoted to a safety notice
Billing and access	Seat blocked or restored, entitlement repaired, beta expiry, and billing projection problems

Routine work is deliberately not here. Editing a form field, ticking a checklist item or importing survey points does not raise an audit entry — those live in the documents themselves, with their own revision numbers and review history.

Filtering

Two selects narrow the list. The first is severity: All severities, Info, Warning, Error, Critical. The second is the area: All business activity, Flight releases, Controlled documents, Document revisions, Acknowledgements, SkyWise promotions, Safety settings, Billing and access and User access. Clear resets both.

The table pages rather than loading everything. The footer reads Showing 50 entries with Load more beneath. When nothing matches you get No audit entries found and Try clearing the filters or check back after new activity.

The job Logs tab is not an audit view

Worth stating plainly, because the permission wording invites the confusion: the Logs tab on a job holds Flight and Vehicle logs — parsed telemetry and driven trips. It is not an audit trail, and it is gated by the flight logs plan feature and the Manage flight logs permission rather than by View audit logs. See Record flights and upload logs.
