Accept a safety notice

Clear the notices assigned to you, and see who still owes an acknowledgement on a revision you published.

When a controlled revision goes effective, everyone in its audience is assigned an acknowledgement. Accepting one records that you have read and understood that revision, against your name, permanently. An unaccepted critical notice can stop a flight you are assigned to.

Navigate to Safety > Acknowledgements as a user who has at least three outstanding notices, one of them marked critical and one past its due date. Capture the three-tile readout band (Outstanding, Critical, Past Due), the Notices panel header with the To accept / Accepted segmented control, and the notice rows showing the Critical and Past due pills, the ASSIGNED and DUE labels, the Read file button and the Accept button.

Before you start

No permission is needed. The Acknowledgements tab is open to every member of the organisation, and shows only what is assigned to you.

Steps

  1. Open Safety and select Acknowledgements

The three tiles across the top are Outstanding, Critical and Past Due. Critical carries the warning that unacknowledged critical notices can block an affected flight release.

  2. Read the notice

The row shows the title, the revision label, and the summary. If the revision has an attached file, press Read file to open it in a new tab. If it has a typed body, that body is printed under the row.

  3. Press Accept

The row states what you are signing: “Accepting records that you have read and understood this notice.” A toast confirms with “Acknowledgement recorded”.

  4. Check the Accepted view

Use the To accept / Accepted control in the Notices panel header. Accepted is your own acknowledgement record — the signatures you have given, with the date you gave each one.

Options

See who still owes an acknowledgement

If you hold Manage safety or Review safety documents, open Safety, then Documents, select the document and press Acknowledgements. The report is titled Read and understood followed by the revision label, and covers “every assigned recipient and the organisation’s immutable acknowledgement evidence.”

Filter it with the status select: All recipients, Outstanding, Acknowledged, Withdrawn. A document can offer this report for both its effective revision and its latest revision.

The pill at the top reports distribution:

  • Distribution in progress — the fan-out to the audience is still running. Totals will move.
  • N outstanding — distribution is complete and this many recipients have not yet accepted.
  • Totals awaiting reconciliation — a legacy revision whose counts have not been backfilled yet.

What happens next

Your acknowledgement moves between three statuses. You never move it back yourself.

StatusShown asHow it gets there
assignedOutstandingA revision you are in the audience for went effective
acknowledgedAcknowledgedYou pressed Accept
withdrawnWithdrawnA newer revision of the same document went effective, or the document was removed, while yours was still outstanding
The three acknowledgement statuses

Withdrawal only touches outstanding acknowledgements. An acknowledgement you have already accepted is evidence and is never withdrawn — a new revision simply assigns you a new one.

Critical notices and flight clearance. While any applicable critical notice is outstanding for a pilot assigned to a job, that job carries a Blocker on the PDRA01_CRITICAL_NOTICE_ACKNOWLEDGED check. The finding names the pilot and the notice. Accepting it clears the blocker, and because that is an improvement rather than a regression, it does not invalidate a clearance already recorded. See Readiness checks.

Notices also appear on Home. The Safety panel on the Home page lists the same outstanding notices with the same Accept button, and links to All notices. It shows “Nothing to acknowledge” when you are clear.

Troubleshooting

A notice disappeared before you accepted it. It was withdrawn, which means a newer revision of that document went effective. Look for the new revision in To accept — you now owe the current one instead.

The Accept button did nothing and an error appeared. The revision changed while the page was open. Reload and accept the current revision.

A blocker says a pilot has not acknowledged a notice, but that pilot says they have. Check the revision label in the finding. The blocker is raised against the effective revision, so accepting an older one does not clear it.
